An Academy spokesperson attributes Garfield’s absence to production problems.
"Due to the nature of a live show, hard decisions sometimes must be made which require the Academy to cut segments due to the logistics of production," the spokesperson tells E! News in a statement. “Andrew Garfield understood that his segment had to be omitted, and he drove to Disneyland on Monday to spend time with 5-year-old Miles Scott (Batkid) and his family.”
The point is, for those who read this story in full, Andrew would never refuse to present an innocent child who thankfully survived cancer. He is not that kind of person. So he even tried to make up for lost time by doing something Miles would enjoy way more.
Can you just like imagine the people that built the Normandy? A kid right out of trade school being put along side a turian twice his age and four times his knowledge. They work hard together. The turian spends half the time yelling at the kid and the other half grumbling…
