Remember the Fallen

For those of you on Tumblr that actually dont know my personal life, I spent 7 years active duty in the United States Air Force, Security Forces. Currently a SSgt in the Air Force Reserves.  The badge you see is the badge of Security Forces members, and the black band you see across it shows, we are in mourning that we have lost a fellow Security Forces member.
Our career field though hectic, we fight with each other, often hate each other, it is because we really are one giant family and no matter the location despite any of our differences we’ve always been able to pull together and accomplish any mission given and come together as one.
In 2007 I PCS’ed to RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, my time at Lakenheath has been long, and a trail has been laid behind that has not always been an easy one. To my brothers and sisters by badge and beret, in arms and in life we are here for you guys take care and get well, for those lost our thoughts are with you and your families, sad days will come and they will go. However long time passed they will not be forgotten you will be remembered and honored.23 June 2007Airman 1st Class Jason D. Nathan, 22, of Macon, Ga., was on patrol at the time of the IED attack. He was on gunner duty with his squad in support of a very difficult Iraqi police transition team mission when the IED detonated.3 March 2011 Today we lost 2 Airmen, one from the 48 SFS and one from the 86 LRSSenior Airman Nicholas Alden and Airman 1st Class Zachary Cuddeback Along with two 48 SFS members critically injured, both from my flight.SSgt Schneider and SrA Veguilla, have now both made miraculous recoveries and are doing well. 27 June 2011We light another candle today and remember another brother lost today, not by an act of terror or ones own acts but sadly by chance and the way life is. A life lost is still a life lost and you will be honored and remembered by your brothers and sisters. Rest well A1C Tyler Patton.19 January 2012David Penny was one of the best people I ve met, period. Met him when he was still an Airmen before he was medically discharged after being diagnosed with cancer. Despite the hard news he was still a better troop then most before he left. He fought a long battle and always showed his head to be up high, incredibly saddened to hear cancer had taken his life too soon. 21 January 2012Lost a legend on this day Chief Master Sergeant Hoyt. He was an inspiring leader, a great person and excellent mentor. He was also a father and a husband with a great sense of humor. The Air Force lost one of its finest, he was always one for HIS troops no one could have ever asked for better. You were a legend of the Blue Beret, the world is darker and so is the Air Force with out your presence, all the lives you have touched mourn and remember you good sir.
These have all been good people I ve had the honor to serve with personally and have gone too soon.
